StatsCan report analyzes cannabis use since legalization
A new Statistics Canada report on cannabis says use of the substance is up, riding in a vehicle with a driver who has consumed is down, and more Canadians are obtaining their cannabis from legal sources… More frequent users are at the highest risk of problems… Early indications from this study suggests use among Canadian youth has not increased. However, cannabis use at older ages and overall prevalence did increase.

OPP have saved more than 100 lives with naloxone
The OPP say calls regarding overdoses rose 121 per cent between 2016 and 2018. Further, OPP data collected between September 2017 to November 2019 shows: The majority (66 per cent) of naloxone recipients were male and 34 per cent were female; The average age of naloxone recipients was 31.5 for females and 32 for males; Most incidences occurred inside a residence

Public Health Agency of Canada announces funding to support mental health of adults on the autism spectrum, caregivers
The Public Health Agency of Canada recently announced it has awarded a strategic fund to Autism Ontario to launch Mental Health Matters, a mental health program for adults on the autism spectrum and their caregivers that will be delivered in partnership with CMHA Ontario, McMaster Autism Research Team (MacART), SAAAC Autism Centre and the York ASD Partnership.

New framework aims to improve police-to-hospital transitions of individuals in crisis
… co-ordination and collaboration among police and hospital partners can speed up transitions between police officers and hospital workers, improve the care experience for the individual, protect health care worker and emergency department safety, and allow police to return to providing public safety services in the community.
