Permanently injured workers receiving benefits in Ontario will see their incomes rise slightly come the new year.
Benefits paid by the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board will increase 2.5 per cent on Jan. 1
The increase applies to workers in the province who are permanently, partially disabled.
Rates rose by a similar amount in July 2007 and again at the start of 2008.
Until the 2007 budget, injured workers saw their benefits increase by less than three per cent over the previous 12 years.
With the latest increase, benefits will have risen by 7.5 percentage points over 18 months.
