Re: Health-care lessons for Ontario – Column, May 28

Since the Local Health Integration Networks were announced in Ontario, doctors have been advocating for a process that will allow for meaningful input to ensure timely, quality care is achieved. All physicians strive to provide patients with the best care possible. Reducing the number of patients who access emergency rooms and implementing province-wide electronic medical records does not hinge on forcing all doctors into collaborative models. In fact, having a variety of practice models for doctors to choose from will make Ontario a more attractive place to practise medicine.
