Ontario’s high school students are graduating at the highest levels ever seen.

According to Education Ministry figures released today, the province’s graduation rate rose to 77 per cent last year, equivalent to 115,500 students.

The graduation rate is up from 75 per cent in the 2006-07 school year, and 68 per cent in 2003-04.

Officials say the increase is due in part to the creation of new programs that allow students to customize their education.

The provincial goal is to have 85 per cent of students graduating from high school by 2010-11.
